Psychodrama
Psychodrama
Psychodrama is a deep Action method developed by Jacob L. Moreno (1989-1974), in which people enact scenes from their lives, dreams, or fantasies in efforts to express unexpressed feelings, gain new insights, and understandings and practice new and more satisfying behaviors. A variety of intervention strategies have been developed to help accomplish these aims. (Garcia and Buchanan, 2004 p162)
Moreno described Psychodrama as “seeking the truth through dramatic means”. We use empty chairs, role play, re-enactments, and deepening doubles in which one can interact with or talk to a younger version of self or other part of themselves causing frustration or find strengths and resources.
